Breedr launched its Precision Livestock Management app in 2019 and is on the mission to empower farmers, processors and food retailers with tools to produce transparency, traceability, environmentally and commercially sustainable meat, safeguarding the future of their business and plant. It now supports over 2.8 million cattle from 6,500 farms across the UK, EU, US, Australia and New Zealand. We are constantly developing a suite of tools which will help farmers, ranchers and supply chains make better informed decisions improving animal management and animal health to deliver a production base fit for the future.

What You'll Be Doing

We’re looking for a commercially driven Cattle Marketing Manager to grow Breedr’s cattle trading business by sourcing cattle, developing producer & feedyard relationships, and executing profitable trades. This is a hands-on sales and trading role for someone who understands cattle markets, knows how to build relationships with producers and buyers, and is motivated by closing deals and growing a book of business.

The ideal candidate combines strong cattle knowledge with commercial discipline. They should be comfortable prospecting for new business, negotiating both sides of a transaction, using market data to make pricing decisions, and maintaining a rigorous pipeline in HubSpot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trade Execution: Own the full sales cycle - prospecting, negotiation, pricing, to deal closure.
  • Market Coverage: Proactively source and qualify feeder cattle leads through calls, texts, supplier platforms, and auction sites.
  • Pricing Strategy: Conduct breakeven analysis and manage buyer/seller expectations using real-time market data.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain long-term relationships with cattle producers and feedyards.
  • CRM Excellence: Log and track all activities in Hubspot. Consistent pipeline discipline is non-negotiable.
  • Performance Metrics: Meet or exceed KPIs for call volume, leads, revenue per head, gross margin, trade velocity.
  • Compliance: Ensure all trades meet USDA, P&SA, and internal compliance protocols. Note the execution manager will ultimately be responsible for compliance and execution of trades.
  • Collaboration: Attend daily stand-ups and weekly company OKR/KAM meetings to align with team goals.
About You
  • 3+ years of experience in cattle marketing, livestock procurement, cattle trading, feedyard business development, agricultural sales, or a similar commercial role.
  • Strong working knowledge of the US cattle industry, particularly feeder cattle markets and feedyard economics.
  • Existing relationships with cattle producers, feedyards, or other industry participants strongly preferred.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to develop relationships and close business.
  • Commercially and numerically minded, with the ability to understand cattle pricing, breakevens, margins, and market dynamics.
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting and proactively developing new customer and supplier relationships.
  • Highly organized and disciplined about maintaining an accurate pipeline and CRM.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, target-driven commercial environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with cattle producers and industry professionals.
  • Experience with HubSpot or another CRM preferred.
